Yikes. In the comments on Mike's post, I wrote that I didn't think these things were Cicadas. I mean, it didn't have wings, and it was brown and crusty looking. Well, apparently, cicadas have a brown crusty shell when they are hibernating, as I found on this website. http://www.abc.net.au/science/scribblygum/February2001/gallery.htm So. That's totally disgusting, and now I know there's going to be a bumper crop of them. Also, I discovered that they are like the loudest insects ever. And now I know they're going to be flying around, so I may have to move. On the plus side, while searching, I found this thing, and it made me REALLY GLAD that my bugs are just Cicadas. http://www.yowiehunters.com/crypto/reports/insects.htm (Scroll down on that page to really scare your socks off.) The title "yowiehunters" should have been my first clue to stay away. In honor of Mike's post, I'm going to make a weather pixie just for him, so we'll know what his weather is like. Hey, speaking of that, maybe soon we'll see his weather pixie completely covered with Cicadas like mine is covered by fog!
