~ Collage ~ I have a few tidbits to say. The first is, I added a new segment to the column at right which is a spot for book recommendations. I find that when I am forced to do a lot of reading (like, say, when school is in session!) I daydream about summer and being able to read what I want. So, I am particularly asking you all to tell me what you’ve read that’s good, so when summer rolls around (or maybe spring break, even!) I’ll have a list at ready. Secondly, Darryl and I spent the whole weekend undoing the work the carpenter did last week. (Well, in all honesty, Darryl spent far more time on it than I) Anyway. Here’s a picture of what they told us they were going to do, but didn’t. We thought initially maybe the lumber cost was less, and that’s why the plan changed, but actually, this lumber was really cheap. AND now our floor upstairs doesn’t bounce. AND it’s almost ready for hydronic tubing and drywall.
Also this weekend, the rest of the tile came out of the bathroom, along with our vanity and toilet. Goodbye old green toilet of mass destruction!! Also, goodbye to our vanity, which I thought was at least as good as that Sauder crap you can buy? But oh no. Darryl started to take it apart, and it just fell in pieces. The plumbing he removed behaved in much the same way. Every time I think our house is nearly livable, something like this happens that makes me afraid of all the things I don’t see that are seriously ready to break ANY SECOND. Third, I love the google searches that lead people here. This week’s interesting search was “noise mice make.” :) And last, it’s FEBRUARY! And Karen? I know you’re busy and all. But where are new baby pictures?! It’s been a month! A whole month of the-most-adorable-baby-in-the-world deprivation!! And Mike – Where’s the other two reminiscing posts? I can’t wait to see what else I’ve forgotten. :)
