So Emily's post has triggered me to make a reminiscing post too. I've had some strange memories pop into my head over the past few months while laying awake at night trying to fall asleep. I don't want to overload you, so I'll only post one memory at time. The first is completely random, very foggy, and probably not anywhere near correct. Here's how I remember it, and maybe someone that was older and has a better recollection can complete the story for me so I can rest easier. Memory #1 I have this memory of what I believe in my head to be Auntie Joyce's apartment. I don't know if this apartment is pre-Uncle Rory, or perhaps one of their first apartments? Was it the apartment that Auntie Joyce lived in when she got married to Uncle Rory? Was it even an apartment or was it a house? Was I there because Auntie Joyce was moving out? I remember a dark-red brick building with a large front porch. I think it was a two-family house, like Grandma Koenig's, with a unit above and a unit below, both with large street-facing porches. There was a cherry tree out front that left a strong impression on me, either because of all the birds or because of the allure of unlimited cherries. Off the porch was a living room, connected to a dining room that had a door to the kitchen. I also remember that the dining room had a pass-through window into the kitchen. The walls were off-white or cream with dark wood trim. Does anyone know what this is that I have stuck in my head? Who lived there? Where was it? Why was I there? Do I really remember a colander full of cherries? Does anyone have a picture of this apartment they can post? If this is a memory of Auntie Joyce's wedding, I can finally lump it together with: 1) Going to get fitted for my tuxedo with Uncle Rory 2) Being at Richmond Mall for some portion of their wedding (rehersal? reception?) 3) Receiving as a wedding gift a portable cassette tape player 4) Making a trip to Radio Shack with someone (?) to get batteries for tape player in #3 5) Listening to Chuck Berry's "Johnny B Goode" in tape player from #3 6) Running around the dance floor and sliding under table-clothed tables on my knees
