Dear Person Who Reads Our Blog From Panera Bread,
I am envious of your morning routine.
Jealously Yours,
Emily.

Scroll down the sidebar to our hit counter. Click on it. On the left side of the page with the statistics is a column of reports. Click on "by Referral" That report is a list of all the websites people used to find us. :) Enjoy!
SPEAKING of referrals, here are our recent searches:
* Fire ants myrtle beach * Brecksville * Mike Haboustak (always a popular search) * Brecksville + german
I don't know why people would want to search for me, there's really nothing interesting going on.
But that most recent search is from the GMT+2 timezone (Eastern European Time), which includes: Athens, Greece; Helsinki, Finland; Istanbul, Turkey; Jerusalem, Israel; and Harare, Zimbabwe. Unfortunately, it's from P&G's domain, which means that it's just boring work related stuff. Probably someone over there trying to figure out who I am and why I'm the support contact for the application they're using.
Okay Emily - explain to me again where you are finding the keywords people search on? I'm completely confused and can't find it on Andrew's blog.
We've had people on his blog from all over the world, too. Sometimes it seems creepy.
Ok, to find the referrals:
* Click on the sitemeter logo. * On the left column, click on "by Referral" * You'll see lots of entries that say "unknown". Those are people who typed your site in directly. * You'll occasionally see a link. Click on that link. If it's a search, you'll see the search page they clicked off of. If it's another website pointing to you, you'll go to that website. I'm not sure that sitemeter is very accurate about the timezones. I know for sure in the beginning all the hits were either Mike, Chrissy, me or my Dad. And still the time zone map showed people from all over! Yet when I checked individual hits (there were SO FEW then) they were all us. So, it's weird.
PS to Karen: I checked out Andrew's blog and I don't see any searches at all. You might want to check out the haboustak sitemeter thing for reference. :)
Ok, this is my last comment, I SWEAR.
But, I'm sure sitemeter gets the time zones from people's computers. So, if their clock/timezone is set wrong... maybe that's where the dubious information comes from?
Thanks Emily! I did figure it out from reading your sitemeter.
I need to update the picture of the day more frequently and get more traffic. We have pictures, but they all look the same after a while. Andrew in the swing, andrew in a hat, andrew sitting, andrew with the dogs. BORING. Speaking of which, I went to a neighborhood "Pampered Chef" party with other neighborhood moms. All I can say is a clearly need to work and I obviously don't fit in. All they talk about is kids, all the time. One was saying she just didn't know if her 7 year old was ready to spend a week with grandma. I said "I left Andrew with my mother for an out of state trip when he was 4 weeks old". That comment was met with silence, stares, and dropped jaws. Jeez!
Re: the pictures. I have to say, I think every single on is completely adorable! Because we don't ever actually see ANDREW, the pictures are all exciting. It's incredible to see how quickly he's growing up! He's almost done being a baby, really.

Anyway, I think you're doing a great job with that site. And don't worry about traffic TOO much (although I was obsessive about that in the beginning here) because it seems like it just takes time. Really, no one was ever here for almost the first whole year! Re: obsessive parents, seriously, people are NUTS. I think your whole life can't be your kids... what kind of pressure does it put on them? Plus, that 7 year old? Good luck adjusting to life outside of mommy's reach. |
