Calling Emily Seguin... 

Where are you, girl? Not enough pithy comments from Emily lately. Mike - I'm so sorry I couldn't make the wedding. Scott's trip ended up being delayed, but Andrew also had another double ear infection at the time, so I guess it wouldn't have worked out anyway. We're hoping the tubes do the trick. Just got a bill from the surgery today ... $4500! Outside of Andrew being prepped (Scott and I speaking with the doctors for about 90 seconds each, and Scott and I changing Andrew into a surgical gown) Andrew was in the hospital's care for a total of about 25 minutes! Seriously! $4500! Between that and the birth, Andrew is officially the most expensive thing we own. Okay, let me preface this by saying I love him to death but...Scott is finally in Sweden for a few weeks! What a relief! When you get used to your other half traveling overseas constantly, then they're suddenly around all summer (except for a two week stint in Korea/Japan), you're itching to have some freedom again. I reorganized some things in the kitchen, and have been paying my brother Brian to help me on fix-it-up projects. We're getting so much accomplished! Hooray! That's pretty much all that's going on with my boring life. I received a financial award at work last week and donated it to the Red Cross. I'm also helping some people displaced here in Wake Forest with resume writing, interview tips, and job hunting. I've never felt so powerless to help while watching the news coverage this weekend. I wish I could do more, but we have a pricy new toy at home named Andrew. I'm tired of seeing depressing images on the news!!!! Save us, Emily!!! Give us some witty comments!!! We're not as talented with writing as you!!!!

Hi Karen,

Your Aunt Val's cousins, from England, are visiting for a week. They're staying at Daryl and Em's house. They arrived this afternoon, 9/8/05, and life is going to be hectic for our family. I'm sure Emily will post her pithy comments again after her life has returned to normal.
