Everyone must be boring lately, because the posts are so few and far between. I am no exception!! However, I will post about nothing. So here goes... nothing!
Today is October 10, and that means we only have one more week until our next garage meeting! We have a meeting with the Board of Zoning Appeals on Tuesday of next week, and a meeting with Village Council on Wednesday. Then I think we're done with meetings, which is exciting! But it's also a little scary because we have SO MUCH to do before work begins, and we haven't even started yet!
This is a long weekend for CSU - no classes today! According to the Office of Field Services, student teachers don't have to do observations when CSU is closed, but I went to school anyway today. On Wednesday, the kids are doing a walk for Katrina victims, and all morning they have assemblies. So, I wanted to make sure I got all my hours in.
I have been so tired lately. Do you all think it's the weather? Fall is supposed to be pretty, but for the last week, it's just been cold and gloomy.
There's one bright spot outside, though - my mums are blooming! It was pretty touch-and-go this year. In the spring, they were eaten up by bugs, and throughout part of the summer, the gladiolas almots choked them out completely. So, they're a little weird looking, but at least they're colorful. Usually, our front yard is all just green at this time of year.
Speaking of gardening, does anyone have any idea when you should cut back/take in canna lilies? I seem to have gotten it wrong for 4 years now, and I'm down to my last few bulbs... I sure could use some advice!
ALSO, we have these peonies, and they're near the construction. They aren't in danger of getting dug up, but they might have a lot of soil thrown on top of them. Do you think that matters at this time of year? In a few weeks, they should be close enough to winter to cut down anyway, don't you think? Or is that just wishful thinking on my part? People keep telling me that they don't transplant well, and I'm not looking forward to trying to dig them up and somehow not kill them!
In other news, we rearranged our bedroom this past weekend, and I've decided I would part with a few things. I think I need to have a REAL garage sale, but for now I'm just going to put pictures on the Haboustak Garage Sale and see if I can give them away hassle-free.
In closing, I think we should try to make theme posts. You know, just so we have something to post? I think we should make them, and have an assignment due week, so everyone who wants to participate can. Maybe this will spark some new posts! Here's my suggestion: We should each make a photo-post of 5 pictures of things we see every day. They seem boring to you, but new and cool to us! Then put up your photo post during the week of October 16-22. What do you think?
Here's some pictures of my weird-looking, but colorful mums.
