Monday, March 20, 2006Every bit of me aches
I don't know how Emily and Darryl are doing it. This weekend Scott and I repainted the Master Bedroom and redid the Master Bath (mainly painting, caulking, woodwork, and replacing lights, fixtures and blinds with more updated ones). Plus we get to do this while trying to keep an almost 18-month-old out of the vicinity so he doesn't down paint thinner. It sucks. It is satisfying to see the finished product, though. I just wish I could have done something a little bit fun for St. Patty's weekend.
I've put together a project list with a deadline of April 9th. But, as usual, Scott will be overseas for half that time. Plus, my husband isn't handy. If we pull this off, it will be miraculous.
I don't think we'll ever be on "Flip that House". Oh well.
Comments:
Remodeling is exhausting when you DON'T have a child to keep up with. I can't imagine trying to remodel AND parent. That's a whole other ballgame. :)

I'll tell you, though, that today is day 10 we've put in about 10-12 hours. We just keep waking up exhausted and going to bed even more so. Then I find things like bead board in the bathroom! Really lovely ancient beadboard that was covered by weirdness, but that might be saved! Only, I'm not sure if it's actually nice, or if I'm so tired that I'm just feeling like - hey, that's good enough. We don't need to tear it out. ;) Anyway, where's the pictures? |
