Commentary 

This morning I hesitantly showed Scott the Appalachian video. As I hung my head in shame, covering my face, Scott watched with his jaw dropped. Completely speechless. He then looked at me like "I married a woman who went to this school? Not only that, I allowed her genes to intermingle with mine to produce offspring????". I did some quick research and apparently this video was met with disdain by students and alumni. But, the brilliant chancellor (by the way, he wasn't the chancellor when I attended) chose to still show it AND have a link on the school's web site. Emily's recap was great. I'm sure if she had the time, or cared, she could have come up wtih something on this level. HAHAHAHAHAHA!! Great post! That link was really funny, too - I had to rewatch the video to see all those special moments I missed the first time. ;)

Seriously, that video could have been a lot shorter and more effective. Just be all, "look, it's really beautiful up here in the mountains, and you can concentrate on your school work. ok? Come to ASU"

UC couldn't really say the same thing. A slowly panning helicopter shot of our campus wouldn't have had the same effect. "Hey look! I can see a panhandler!!"
