Monday, April 17, 2006This is all people are talking about around here...
Well, here's a link to the latest SI article. I work with a bunch of Duke grads, so maybe I hear it more:

Easter went well. The bunny brought Andrew a stuffed duck (he's really into ducks lately), a "choo choo" (Thomas the Train, Uncle Shane taught him choo choo) and a bike that he's not quite big enough to ride yet.
What did everyone else do?
Comments:
I thought I heard on NPR the other morning that they had given a DNA test to all the players and there was no match to any of them? Is that wrong? It doesn't seem like they should be able to indict them if it's true.... Weird.
For Easter, we were at Aunt Jan's - the rowdiest Easter party with the best food and punch-beverage. Did you have dinner at your house?
We had Easter dinner at my mom and dad's. I did an Easter brunch at my house last year, but I'm glad I didn't have to do one this year.

The Duke case is just bizarre. At first it really looked like there was a rape, but then the defense lawyers came out with all this evidence that makes them seem innocent. There wasn't any DNA match. It's possible the DA has other evidence, of course. The DA is up for re-election May 2nd (it will be decided in the primary) so that's a big deal too. There's talk that he's just trying to get votes. I'm not sure what it takes a grand jury to indict. There's no defense before a grand jury, just the DA. It's all really weird. Lots of drama. |
