Still can't do comments

Darn this comment thing! Anyway, I think Emily's update is way too cute. What grade are you teaching? I thought it was middle school. Isn't middle school supposed to be the worst with all those hormones and cliques? And I'm glad you're so stoked about getting to visit the principle's office and post-it notes. I thought things were tough at IBM ... I finally just went out and bought my own optical mouse rather than deal with the hassle. However, post-its are readily available.
Comments:
I'm teaching 6th grade language arts and social studies.

I think that although the hormones are seriously present and accounted for, the bigger issues stem from SMELL, sassiness with one another, and boy-girl issues where they are "going out" except they're not quite clear on what that should mean.

They usually don't get sassy with the teachers, and the only like 2 times that's happened in my class, I've just taken the kid in question out to the hall to talk about it. They've usually had a pretty reasonable excuse for behaving badly, and both times the kids started crying because they felt badly about it. They're really just pretend thugs. ;)

All in all, it's really a fun job.
