There's nothing like a 4 day work week. 

I've only just been back to school, and tomorrow is Wednesday already! That sure is nice for me - not so much for Darryl. Vacations go by too fast, don't they? My week is off to a nice start. I spent a bunch of time this morning getting organized before school. I got all my copies made for the whole week (barring any last minute changes to my lesson plans!) AND cleared off my whole desk, which is awesome. Nothing feels as good as preparation, eh? [EDIT: hahaha, I just read that out loud to myself and thought "Preparation H" instead of "preparation, eh?"] I made kind of a rookie mistake over the last few weeks because I've been planning these lessons that I think are really cool, and they involve a lot of writing on the part of the kids, which I love. It's cool because I can see how well they're understanding what they're reading, and where there are common points of confusion. Anyway, the downside of all that (which experienced teachers KNOW) is that there is a TON of stuff for me to read, comment on, grade and pass back. It's a lot of paper shuffling, and it's really time consuming. Now that I've been teaching all day for a few weeks now, though, I at least have a system for handling all the paper. But next time, I will definitely find more paper-less activities. :) In other news, I think I may have a new garbage disposal installed by the end of the week! I know, you all must be on the edges of your seats in anticipation. :) Maybe I'll make a movie of the disposal in action. Won't that be exciting? Doesn't anyone else have some stuff to post? ;)
